A Taste Of Marilyn

1 big head of cabbage
300 g minced pork
200g minced beef
300 g rice
1 Bunch of dill
Sour cream
2 Cups chicken stock
2 carrots
3 tomatoes
2 tins chopped tomatos
Salt and pepper
1 Tablespoon paprika



Boil the whole head of cabbage in a salt water for about 20 minutes. Then peel off the leaves carefully.

Boil rice in a salt water until it is almost ready. Grate carrots and chop tomatoes. Mix rice with minced meat and carrots and tomatoes. Add paprika, salt and pepper and half of the chopped dill. Combine in a pan over heat but do not fully cook.

Put each leaf the inner side up. Place one table spoon of prepared meat stuffing in the centre of each leaf. Roll leaves, covering stuffing fromĀ sides like an envelope. Put stuffed cabbage leaves with seam down close to each other in a heavy casserole dish. Add two tins of chopped tomato’s, chicken stock and 2 tablespoons of sour cream until golubsti are covered. Simmer for at l hour or until golubsti are cooked. Served with seam down, in a deep plate. Garnished with sour cream or sauce in which golubtsy were cooked with a fresh dollop of sour cream and a sprinkle of dill.
